Experience this delightful art-form from Taiwan presented tonight by Rom-Shing who have performed at many important venues including the National Theater in Taiwan.

Hakka opera was originally brought from China to Taiwan and developed by farmers and and agricultural workers on the hillsides of the mountainous regions. These "tea-picking" tunes, originally of a very high pitch so that they could be heard over great distances, have evolved over time to become more accessible to the general public.
