Costumbres de Otro Tiempo (Customs of a Different Time) combines beautiful music, choreography and costumes to celebrate the life and customs of early and modern Mexico.  From ancient Aztec rituals to the exciting polkas of Chihauhau, from the indigenous dances of Mihoacan to the joyful celebrations of Jalisco, this wonderful troupe guide us on a journey from when the first folk dances originated to the vibrant fiestas of today.

Artistic Director Rafael Valpuesta has traveled all over the US and Europe promoting Mexican culture through dance. He has worked with great masters in different disciplines - Viviana Basanta of the Ballet Folklorico de Mexico de Amalia Hernandez, Davincci Burkes, former Alvin Alley soloist, and the Art of Flamenco under the direction of Juana Amaya in Seville, Spain. His extensive experience and training allow him to fuse ballet with traditional dance to create stylized theatrical interpretations of Mexican folk dance that inspire and delight,.
