Event: Ballet Petit Presents "Pinocchio" Date: June 28 & 29
Ballet Petit Performing Arts Center will present the world premiere of PINOCCHIO on June 28 and 29. Adapted and directed by Tracy Vonder Haar, the story is a fresh re-telling of the tale of the mischievous puppet and his journey from Gepetto’s shop to Pleasure Island, to the belly of the whale, and home again. Pinocchio is helped along the way by his sidekick, the Cricket, and the beautiful Blue Fairy.
This two-act adaptation of the original story by Carlo Collodi is performed by students in the pre-professional training division at Ballet Petit Performing Arts Center. The cast includes Claire Cutler as Pinocchio, Sophia Vindeni as Cricket, and Chrissy Smith as the Blue Fairy. Former Joffrey dancer Jerry Kokich guests as the toymaker, Gepetto. Senior Company members fill in the other leading roles with support from the other companies in residence at the Center. Under the direction of Tracy Vonder Haar, there is exciting choreography by Logan Hutt, Jerry Kokich, Katrina Jade, Sven Toorvald, Shaun Curtin, and Jenn Aedo.
